I have plants! For the first time ever in my life I own plants! They're succulents so they hopefully stand a chance with a first time plant owner.
I've always been hesitant to have plants of my own because I'm sure I'd forget to take care of them. At least with Hazel (my cat), she'll let me know load and clear if I drop the ball on anything she needs.
Why finally the plunge into plant ownership? Well I recently re-discovered some mugs I bought at a Rain Forest Cafe years ago. No surprise why I bought them! Cute animal shaped mugs ... how could I resist?
They're adorable, but absolutely terrible to drink out of, especially the crocodile. I didn't want to get rid of them since they are just the cutest, but I don't need the clutter of empty mugs with no use. We tried to come up with possible uses for them and we decided they might be cute to use as planters for succulents.
The plants were a Christmas gift and we recently bought this nifty corner shelf at Ikea to put them on. They're in a nice visible place, where they hopefully won't get forgotten and the shelf makes a nice addition to the kitchen/dining room area. This also gives a good sense of how I decorate all the things, animals and cartoons forever!
Since it is Monday and so far every Monday I've talked about my books of the week...it is time for my books of the week! I feel like I need a cute little graphic to break this up from the rest of the post. Anyways...
We finished White Night (The Dresden Files #9) by Jim Butcher from last week and we've started on the next book in the series, Small Favor (The Dresden Files #10). It was a fun book. Good for keeping us entertained while working and the next book has so far been just as fun.Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen- Still listening to this book. I made a bit of progress while I was cutting out monkey pieces last week. I haven't formed much of an opinion about it, but I also don't feel like I've given it all the attention it really needs.
Last week I also started The Spectacular Now by Tim Tharp. I'm about 75% finished with this book and I just don't know. I don't know what to say about it. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I hoping by the end I'll have some sort of definite thoughts, one way or another, but at the same time I'm also expecting at the end to just not know. Super helpful book description isn't it?
